This workshop is designed to build awareness of the history and purpose of the ADA, and connect this knowledge to our work in adult education. Sherri will highlight key details about the ADA and provide a general introduction to the passing of the ADA Amendments Act. This training will also address Non-Obvious Disabilities, and protection under the ADA. Participants will build their knowledge about the ADA, and be connected with additional valuable resources, leading to positive and inclusive teaching environments.
Note: Participants should come prepared with a personal story or best practices that they can share with the group.
This 3 hour training counts toward the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
