Presenter: Rozlynn Johnson, NYSED ESOL Certified Trainer

Morning Refreshments and Working Lunch Provided

In this training, our NYSED ESOL Certified Trainer, Rozlynn Johnson, will cover foundational instruction for lower level ESOL adult learners. Resources, activities and collaborative discussions will highlight practical strategies, supports, and teaching techniques that can be implemented in the classroom. Topics will also cover innovative digital literacy and curriculum tools, as well as different types of language learning platforms. She will discuss how to create engaging, technology-rich learning experiences that accelerate ESL students’ literacy growth through dynamic immersion; and highlight how these tools can provide a foundation in computer technology.

Participants should bring 3-4 activities, resources, practices and/or teaching techniques that they can share with the group.

This 4 hour training counts toward the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
