Our regional ELA Master Teacher, Jennifer Kent-Isaacs, is ready to share new material and learning experiences with teachers in our region. This training will focus on ELA coursework as it relates to the Science subtest on the GED exam. Material presented will focuses on the Life Science topics students need to have “under their belts” for the GED test. They are designed to help students learn content while practicing essential reading skills–in other words, to practice learning from text. She will also tie in TABE 11/12 content to provide turn-key lessons for teachers to bring back to their own classrooms and implement.
This 6 hour training counts toward the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
