TABE 13 & 14 Administration Training

Presenter: Melissa Jenkin, CST RAEN Program Coordinator

Morning Refreshments and Working Lunch Provided

The new TABE 13 & 14 Administration Training includes all-new test items and is the initial training necessary to be certified to give the TABE 13 & 14 assessments. ANYONE who will be administering the TABE 13 & 14 Assessments for any AEPP Funded Program MUST complete this training.

Participants will become familiar with the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Forms 13 & 14 as an assessment tool for placing students, monitoring student progress, planning instruction, and improving your program. They will learn about the various TABE materials, including the Locator and the Complete Battery of Tests, and compare the different levels, content, and formats of the test. Participants will learn how to administer the test and interpret the scores, as well as how to increase rigor when administering the TABE.

TABE 13 & 14 Assessments replace TABE 11 & 12 Assessments beginning FY26. DRC indicates they will no longer publish or sell any TAABE 11 & 12 (paper or computer based) and all programs must begin using the new assessments as of July 1, 2025. Note, TABE 13 & 14 scores cannot be entered into ASISTS until July 1, 2025. At which time TABE 11 & 12 scores will no longer be accepted.

NOTE: Test administrators must be recertified at least every THREE years.

This 6 hour training counts toward the 14 hours of professional development requirement for all NYSED funded program staff.
